A tour of Fractal

Fractal is a portfolio builder for developers looking to showcase their skills and services.

It's a minimalist platform for building and hosting developer profiles, making it easy for new clients to learn about your expertise and past projects.

What Fractal offers

These are the initial features. See feature roadmap for much more!

  1. Create your profile with skills and past projects
  2. Add a "hire me" button to your website or blog
  3. Simple design and less clutter
  4. Built and operated by its developer

Profiles

Here's how a profile might look like on Fractal:

The most important parts of the profile are skills with experience years, past and current projects with short descriptions, and contact information.

Projects

This is how a project looks like on Fractal:

A project has a name, a period, a small description, and relevant skills used.

Projects have an important place on Fractal because they're much more informative than a list of past roles. When I say that I was a front-end developer at a startup called MyGames for two years then how much does it really say to you as a potential client? Not much, right!

But when I say instead that I built a booking system in PHP using Laravel framework where people can find and book tennis courts and where I integrated the booking system with hardware that opened doors at the right time, it's much more informative! You might then want to hire me for a similar task or something that requires the skills I used.

"Hire me" button

You can add a "hire me" button to your website or blog and let your visitors know that they can hire you for your skills.

Clicking on this button will take the person to your profile on Fractal where they can learn more about your expertise and past projects.

There's also a dark mode version of the button:

Development and Support

Fractal is not a big VC funded startup. It's a small site built and operated by its developer (mostly from his bedroom).

You are welcome to contact me at raumet@workfractal.com for any feature requests or bug reports you might have. Feel free to just introduce yourself and say hi.
